Analytical Components International Launches High-Performance Seals Compatible with Major HPLC Pumps

Analytical Components International (ACI), a leading manufacturer of precision components for analytical instrumentation and innovator in the hard materials industry, specializing in synthetic sapphire and precision ceramic components for the industrial, medical and life science industries, has announced a new line of high-performance seals compatible with major HPLC pumps.

For decades, the ACI team has set the industry standard for the hard material components of the HPLC pump, including sapphire and ceramic pistons. By launching this dedicated line of high-performance seals, specifically designed for use with Agilent® HPLC pumps and Waters® HPLC pumps (designed and manufactured to meet or exceed OEM performance), ACI now offers a high-performance aftermarket seal solution for the Piston-Seal Interface. This validated system approach reduces the risk of premature seal failure and ensures pulse-free flow at pressures exceeding 15,000 psi.

The success of an HPLC pump depends on the precision fit between the piston and the seal. By engineering both components, ACI eliminates the compatibility gaps that often occur when mixing third-party pistons and seals. ACI pistons are polished to industry leading surface finishes, and seals are designed to minimize seal degradation. Materials are optimized for each system: graphite-filled PTFE for aftermarket Agilent® pumps, and reinforced UHMW-PE for aftermarket Waters® ACQUITY® pumps, providing reliable, high-pressure performance and extended maintenance intervals.

These seals are engineered for use with widely used OEM HPLC and UHPLC pump part numbers, ensuring direct replacement or performance upgrades for the original systems:

• Seals compatible with Agilent® 1100/1200/1260 pumps (cross-reference OEM P/N 5063-6589, 0905-1420)
• Seals compatible with Waters® Alliance pumps (cross-reference OEM P/N WAT271018, WAT270938, WAT271017, WAT270939, WAT270940)
• Seals compatible with Waters® ACQUITY® pumps (cross-reference OEM P/N 700002598, 700002599)
